Moscow, Russian Federation-After an intense agenda of a little more than 24 hours in the city of St. Petersburg, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, arrived yesterday, Tuesday, at around 3:00 p.m. (local time), in the capital of the Eurasian country.
At Vnukovo International Airport, the head of state was received by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov and Igor Bogdashev, director of the State Protocol Department.
As part of a program that responds to the invitation extended by his counterpart Vladimir Putin, President Díaz-Canel is in the Russian Federation, among other reasons, to celebrate the 65th anniversary -and to participate in the traditional parade in Moscow's Red Square on May 9, which will remind the world of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory of the Russian people over the fascist hordes.
It is expected that in these hours, in the Moscow city, the Cuban dignitary will hold exchanges with the high leadership of the brother country -agenda that includes a meeting with Vladimir Putin-. He is also scheduled to visit important venues of the nation and pay tribute to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in the Moscow neighborhood of Sokol, where a sculpture of the Cuban leader was erected and has become a place of homage.
Moscow, majestic, is already adorned with red flags on the eve of the historic May 9. The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba is expected to participate in the parade that will honor the Great Victory over the fascist forces in World War II, which meant a saving turn for humanity.
