When the visitor arrives at the new Vietnam Military History Museum in Hanoi, more than the large spaces, whose beauty and monumentality nobody could deny, he is impressed by the details: the piles of small children in uniform in front of the posters that tell what the war once was; the veteran who is missing a leg and whose neat shirt shines with medals; the young people who take selfies before the testimony of some heroic deed.
But if the visitor comes from the other side of the world, from Cuba, what shocks him the most is to find, almost at the end of the tour, the reproduction of a front page of the Granma newspaper, which reads, in capital letters: DEFINITIVE TRIUMPH OF THE VIETNAMESE PEOPLE'S CAUSE.
That headline contained much more than the news of April 30, 1975, it was a triumph that the Island lived as its own, after years of denouncing the crimes of U.S. imperialism and that the extraordinary example of resistance made of a people distant in geographic and cultural terms, a brother.
Not in vain, Fidel would say that for Vietnam we were ready to give even our own blood; and Ho Chi Minh would comment to Marta Rojas, journalist of this newspaper, that the strength and greatness of the Vietnamese people resided in their unity and in the fact that they enjoyed "the support of the peoples of the world and, as an example, there is the people of Cuba".
That legacy of communion between two nations, their values, traditions of struggle and aspirations is still in force; today with the horizon of working together for a better future not only for both territories, but also for Humanity.
As Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, explained in the inaugural session of the 6th Theoretical Seminar between the Communist Party of Cuba and the Communist Party of Vietnam, held yesterday, "the systematic and fruitful dialogue that we develop together with the study and exchange of experiences, on the theoretical and practical problems of the process of building Socialism, constitute essential pillars of the solid mutual trust and cooperation that we enjoy today in all areas".
