Inaugurated on September 14, 1856, in whose execution and subsequent regulations, figures such as Carlos Manuel de Céspedes y del Castillo, Bartolomé Masó Márquez, Rafael Oro, Don José Caymari, Fray Luis Ramírez and Lieutenant Governor Felipe de Castro stood out.

Located on Villuendas Street, corner of Maceo Street, Popular Council # 4 Celia Sánchez Manduley, Urban Historic Center, Manzanillo Municipality.  19th century building with a simple eclectic façade with two levels and an approximate height of 14 meters.

On August 8, 1852, 53 people (natural and legal) meet in the halls of the Philharmonic Society, with the aim of building a theater through shares of $50.00 each.  After the shares were returned, the theater would be owned by the Charity Hospital, which was being built at that time, this being one of the resources that, from an economic point of view, would support the health facility.

The Manzanillo Theater was built on the land acquired by Don Juan Bautista Mendieta and Don Jaime Martí, who made it the property of the "La Filarmónica" Instruction and Recreation Society, located at the confluence of Santa Ana streets, on the corner of Salas (today Villuendas and Maceo).  This was determined in a meeting dated October 3, 1852, agreeing there the construction of the building after materializing the transfer of the premises, by the owners, to the company.
