The Company of Aqueduct and Sewage System of Granma (EAALG): belongs to the OSDE Water and Sanitation. Its objective is to provide water supply services and evacuation of liquid waste through the systems it manages, to offer services of evacuation of rainwater, suppression of leaks, cleaning of septic tanks, pits and other liquid waste treatment systems.
It is made up of a Central Office with 9 Regulation Directorates, a Services Basic Entrepreneurial Unity (UEB) in each municipality, which is 13, and a Logistics, Equipment and Sanitation UEB.
We have an infrastructure of 247 aqueduct pumping stations, 14 residual pumping stations, 8 water treatment plants, 228 drinking water treatment facilities with 197 chlorine gas or hypochlorite dosing equipment, with which we ensure that the water delivered to the population meets with the parameters established in the Joint MINSAP-INRH Resolution, 32 stabilization pond systems and 28 septic tanks.
It also has an inventory of 31,888 pits that are serviced.
A total of 473,877 inhabitants benefit from drinking water, 442,140 through home connection through easy access 3,325, through piped water 22,475. With sewerage we have a total of 110,459 inhabitants connected to our systems and the rest of the population of the province is benefited through pits and latrines.
For the good performance of the activity we have a technological park of 22 pit cars with an active percentage of 11 cars, 5 clearing cars and 57 tank cars.
