Our Region

The Pilar de Jucaibama Old Mill is located in the Pompita Popular Council, Bayamo, Granma.

The relevance of these ruins lies in the fact that they belonged to the patriot Francisco Vicente Aguilera Tamayo, founder of the Revolutionary Committee of Bayamo and initiator of the heroic deed of 1868.

It treasures objects linked to this revolutionary group, as well as original elements of the Lodging, standing out among them a varied set of furniture used in Cuba in the 1950s of the 20th century.

 It is a prototype building of Protorrationalism in Bayamo.

Place where Calixto García Íñiguez attempted suicide before being taken prisoner by the Spanish.

Located in the current community of San Antonio de Baja, belonging to the Canabacoa Popular Council, rural area of Bartolomé Masó municipality, Granma Province.

The commemorative monument is a very simple eclectic style complex, made up of two bodies in a prismatic shape with square bases.  The monument is waterproofed with bricks.

 In 1930 an obelisk was completed in homage to the Battle of Peralejo, and its leader, Major General Antonio Maceo Grajales.
